I have been searching for a new spring summer textile jacket for a while now. I'd love to do leather like the Chaos but for me leather is just too hot to ride in. First impressions of the Venture is very good. First it looks great. No crazy squid graphics on it. The liner is clean and removes easily. The fit doesn't change much with it removed either.
I am 6' 175 pounds with an athletic build and a 43.5" chest. I was medium in the Top performer and a large in the Chaos. The Venture fits just like the TP and the medium is perfect on me. The length is correct and not too short like Rev'it jackets.
My only complaint so far is the lack of a level 1 back protector (the included foam piece isn't a protector). Also the insert isn't shaped for modern protectors like D30, so I'll have to trim the one I have. Not a huge deal tho. I wish you had the option to upgrade to level 2 shoulder and elbow pads. But the included level 1 pads are soft rubber and they fit ok. I'll probably upgrade those to Astars or D30 too. I know most companies don't sell the jackets with a back protector,I'm just giving some feedback.
Bottom line is the Venture is a really nice summer jacket with lots of mesh to keep you cool on hot riding days. Well done First Mfg.
