Almost perfect... almost
45 years behind bars here. I've had more leathers on my back than I can remember. Some I wish I still had, others were happily "rehomed".
The Mastermind is right up there with my favorites. Great material, durable and handles cold to hot transitions with relative ease. Its difficult to find a fault in this design, but I would say there is one for certain and one potential.
First, given all the pockets you would think the most used side pockets would be deep enough to at least put your gloved hand into, but that's not the case. The side pockets will barely hold a pack of smokes and zip up (not that i smoke, but its a reference point), and thats bothersome. Forgot about using those to warm you hands, they simply aren't deep enough and are strangely further back than any other jackets ive owned.
Second concern is the shear number of zippers. While yes, they are YKK zippers, that's a failure point, and a water intrusion point. I worry the main zipper may fail sooner than necessary - i think a larger gauge main zip should have been considered here.
That said, I am picking nits here. Nothing is perfect, but this is pretty close. Definitely worth the money (on sale), and will likely last me many seasons of use.
