In 1987, a young man  arrived in New York City with a suitcase full of leather and a vision most would call crazy. The motorcycle world was hungry for quality gear, jackets and vests built for the road, not the runway, but the market offered only overpriced labels or cheap imitations. There had to be a middle ground: premium craftsmanship at an honest price.

That suitcase didn't stay packed for long.

What started in small NYC workshops quickly grew into something bigger. Word spread through bike shops, rally grounds, and clubhouses. Riders talked. First MFG Co earned its reputation one jacket at a time, one satisfied customer at a time, one mile at a time.

The Gear That Defined Us

We don't make fashion pieces that hang in closets. We build gear that gets worn hard, gear that smells like exhaust and asphalt, fades at the elbows from gripping handlebars, and tells your story.

That's why we created the Lowside, our signature canvas vest that changed how riders think about fit. Cut three inches shorter than traditional vests so it won't balloon at 60 mph. Tailored a half-size tighter because it’s something built actually to ride. The 20oz raw canvas breaks in with you, not against you. Conceal carry pockets sit exactly where you need them. The Lowside isn't just our best-seller, it's the vest riders refuse to take off.

Then there's the Vendetta, a summer riding jacket for those who don't let heat stop them from logging miles. Lightweight sheep leather. Action back for mobility. Vents that breathe. Removable hood and thermal liner for unpredictable weather. Conceal carry pockets with tapered holsters. The Vendetta doesn't ask you to choose between comfort and function, it delivers both at the same time.

From the Shadows to the Spotlight

For years, we operated behind the scenes, manufacturing leather goods for hundreds of other brands. We perfected our craft without the spotlight, quietly becoming one of the largest leather manufacturers in the country.

In 2016, we stepped out. First MFG Co launched its retail division, focused entirely on the motorcycle lifestyle, the freedom, the brotherhood, the unspoken bond between riders.

By 2017, our Customs program was born,one-of-a-kind pieces for clubs and individuals who wanted gear that didn't exist on any rack. The demand was immediate. Riders don't just want to buy gear. They want to own their identity.

Today, we remain one of the largest motorcycle apparel manufacturers based in the USA, still producing for other brands, but now also for the riders who know and trust our name.

The Hands Behind the Leather

Every piece passes through the hands of skilled craftspeople, not unsupervised machines, but trained professionals who know a misaligned stitch isn't a flaw. It's a failure.

Our facilities are WRAP certified, safe conditions, fair treatment, environmental responsibility. A jacket built for the long haul should be built the right way, by people who are treated right.

The leather is inspected by hand. Stitching is checked twice. YKK zippers on everything, because we won't let a cheap zipper ruin  your quality gear. Every snap, pocket, and seam exists because a rider said, "I wish my jacket had this."

We listened. We built it. We tested it on actual roads by actual riders.
