First MFG Co started in 1987 with one suitcase of leather and a simple idea: premium craftsmanship at an honest price. For years we manufactured leather goods for hundreds of other brands before launching our own motorcycle line in 2016. Here is what goes into every piece we make.
Leather we choose by hand
Our specialty is naked cowhide: full-grain hides that are drum dyed with no corrective sanding or finishes, so they keep their natural markings and soft feel. Naked hides are hand-selected for uniformity, and only the best qualify. Our Platinum and Malibu leathers are the thickest and softest versions of this cowhide. Learn how we grade every leather in FMCo Leathers Explained.
Weight that matches the ride
Our leather runs from 0.9mm to 1.4mm thick, depending on the product. Lighter hides keep a jacket or vest comfortable for long days in the saddle, and the heavier end gives riders maximum durability. Each product page lists the exact leather and thickness used, so you know exactly what you are buying.
Construction that lasts
Stitching, seams, lining, zippers, snaps and buckles are where gear usually fails first. That is why our Lifetime Warranty covers construction and hardware on every leather product we make, stock or custom.
One-of-a-kind customs
Since 2017 our Customs program has built one-of-a-kind pieces for clubs and individual riders. Pick the leather, stitching, quilting, accents and lining in the Custom Builder, or order any style made to measure.
Care that keeps it riding
Good leather gets better with age when it is cared for. Our motorcycle gear care guide covers cleaning, conditioning and storage. Read the full First MFG story.
